Building a Pottery Wheel
Ingredients
- One slightly used treadmill
- Netduino or Arduino
- Guitar volume pedal
- Wires and resistors
- Shaft – size 5/8″ or 3/4″?
- Bearings
- Pulleys
Directions
- Rip apart treadmill
- Pull out motor
- Pull out controller board
- Pull out console
- Wire up everything
- Figure out what type of shaft, pulleys and bearings to use
Obsession stage of DIY project
So I’ve been working on a DIY pottery wheel for my daughter and my brain is firmly in obsession stage.
As far as I can tell, here are my mental stages of a project like this:
- Mild interest
- Research
- Initial purchases
- Frustration
- Dawning comprehension
- Obsession
- Exhaustion
- Breather
- Second wind
- Completion
The last two steps are optional.
